About Janet Duggan
Background
My inspiration
I was born in England, but was fortunate to grow up in the wide-open spaces of Montana. My life-long interest in nature and the arts is a tribute to having grown up amongst such majestic surroundings.
Watercolour is my medium of choice, as I love its transparency and mercurial nature. I especially enjoy plein-air painting, but the weather often dictates studio work. Weekly sessions at Life Drawing give me the opportunity to focus and to work in the presence of my peers. Landscapes, architectural subjects, and figures are my favorite subjects.
For many years I worked and exhibited as a professional studio potter- Ottawa Potters Guild
